I'm Sold

Long time, no see. Between getting used to my new job and another surgery, I haven't been able to write blogs. But I've made swatches and I plan on catching up with reviews the next few weeks. Starting now with Catrice's Sold Out Forever.

Shopping Log - Part 4

I ran into the store to grab a cleansing tonic and I bumped into the Catrice Million Styles display. I had no idea it was available already! Generally luck isn't on my side, but this time I was at the right place at the right time as they still had all colors in stock.

20120318-002
No Smoke Without Fire, Million Dollar Baby, Miss Money Penny, Shake It! Flake It!

20120318-003
The Return Of The Space Cowboys, Godfather Of Pearl, ¿Holo Qué Tal?, Have An Ice Day!

As the promotion for Million Styles also included reduced prices for the normal nail polishes, I brought a few of those with me as well.

Wrapped Around My Finger, Welcome To Roosywood, Blue Cara Ciao, Pool Party At Night
Big City Dazzel

I can't wait to try all of them out!

Dutch OPI Lover

Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI? is the name of this purple, tulip-base color of the Holland Collection by OPI. All I can do is answer with an excited 'Yes!'

Shopping Log - Part 3

Yes, here I am again with  another shopping log. I promise it's a small one this time around and that the next post will be an actual review instead of more new products.

Catrice: London's Weather Forecast, Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans!, Browno Mars, Sing: Oh Champs-Elysée, Essence: Choose Me
The first two colors of Catrice are old colors that are being released again for this Spring/Summer, the other two are new colors. The Essence nail polish is an oldie but my local store never sold it until now.

Have a crazy Thursday!

Marni by H&M

Don't you just love this collection? I saw the long version of the commercial on tv yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised. I made a collage of my favorites. Gorgeous model too, btw.

This collection will be available on March 8 at H&M.

'til next time!

Shopping Log - Part 2

As Catrice and Essence are introducing their updated collections, so is OPI! As a Dutch nail polish lover my goal is to buy all colors of the Holland Collection but with limited cash, I have to spread it out a little. These are the ones I bought earlier this week, together with two Sephora polishes.

Sephora 84 Full Moon Party, 69 Midnight Crawl
OPI Green-wich Village, A Roll In The Hague, Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI?, Gouda Gouda Two Shoes, I Don't Give A Rotterdam

For some reason I never noticed that awesome green OPI color, Green-wich Village. I love, love, love it and can't wait to try it out, just like the other ones. Be still, my nail polish-loving heart.

I feel... Wicked

I went to see the Dutch version of the well-known musical Wicked earlier this month and I was blown away. It's absolutely amazing! Reason enough for me to create a nail look inspired by Glinda's dress as worn in the picture below.

(Photo credit: Unkown. Please drop me a comment if you know who this picture belongs to)
The look I created;

20120220-001

Silly me didn't realise I didn't have a light, baby blue color so I improvised a little and used a white polish as base color. I added a general glitter polish over half the nail, a blue glitter polish to get the blueish glitter and used another jelly based blue glitter polish on the lower part of my nails to get the blue look.

I hope you like the look and that it may inspire you to create one of your own :-)

Have a great week,

I Got The Blues

Every gal needs a good dark blue nailpolish in her stash so I picked up this one by Catrice; Blues Brother Vol II. Looking at the name, I assume there's been a previous edition of this little thing, but I'm not familiar with that one so I can't compare it.

A Base To Build On

Everybody who dyes their nails all the time knows this problem; discoloration of your nails. Using a good base coat helps a lot to avoid this and it makes your nail manicure to last longer too. But as useful as a base coat is, I don't really want to pay big bucks for it. This HEMA base coat does what it should do for a nice price.

Price: < €3,00, I can't remember exactly
Content: 11ml

20120121-002

It works well with any brand, less chipping of your colored nail polish and... no discoloration. At all. The only bad news is that as far as I know they only sell in the Benelux. But should you ever be visiting, pick up a few of these bottles. It's the best budget base coat I've ever used and I've tried many.

See ya!

Shopping Log

Because I didn't hurt my wallet bad enough just yet, I went to Sephora. They had the new OPI Nicki Minaj collection and I picked up Save Me. I also got a nail polish of the Sephora brand, no. 76 I love matte khaki.

Again, reviews will follow.

Shopping Log

Discounts are bad for my wallet! Not for my nails though. Catrice will be renewing their collection soon so all products that are getting replaced are 50% off at my local store. There were three colors I wanted but didn't own yet, and I decided to get a back-up bottle of one of my favorite nude colors Mona Lisa Is Staring Back.

Next to that, they had another 25% off every second product and look at that, they have a new limited edition out... Enough products worth grabbing! Then I noticed the new trend edition by Essence and I liked three colors right away. But why leave those other two colors behind, right? :-) My local store also works with personalised discounts and I got to buy four bottles of the Essence Colour & Go collection at a reduced price and voila, this is what I end up with;

20120118-001

  • Catrice Ultimate Nail Lacquer, no. 130 Lucky In Lilac; no. 320 Back To Black; no. 120 Plum Play With Me
  • Catrice Hidden World Limited Edition Nail Lacquer, C01 White And Seek; C02 Walk On Air; C03 Wood You Follow Me?

  • Catrice Hidden World Limited Edition Illuminating Base
  • Catrice Ultimate Nudes, no. 060 Mona Lisa Is Staring Back

Reviews will follow, but it might take a while. So much new stuff!

Broken Dawn

It's not a surprise that the name of this nail polish 'The Dawn Is Broken' was inspired by the title of a Twilight book as it was part of the Essence Vampire's Love trend edition.

Shopping List

Nail polish and shoes... my two addictions. I was browsing the H&M (Yes, I'm a budget girl) Spring 2012 catalogue the other day and I couldn't resist ordering. Apart from some basics for my wardrobe, I simply had to get these shoes and cute accessories.

20120114-001
Hot pink suède peep-toe pumps
20120114-002
Green immitation-suède peep-toes
20120114-003
Two scarfs, two small belts (the green one is a perfect match to the shoes) and a set of 9 pearl-like ear rings.
I'm definitely looking forward to the sunshine now, so I can start wearing these lovelies.

Nail polish reviews to come again soon :)
